Rates vary depending on size, complexity, and framing so contact me for a quote. Gallery quality framing is available for an additional charge. Travel expenses (if needed) are an additional charge.

How I Work

For commissioned paintings, I can work from good-quality photos, yours or mine. Once I see your photo(s) I'll make the determination of whether I can work from them or if I would need to gather my own reference material.

My preferred working method for landscapes and animal/wildlife paintings is to work from my own photos, site visits, and on-site sketches/studies.

For portraits, I prefer to meet the subject of the painting (whether 2 or 4-legged), take my own photos, make sketches, studies, etc. For more formal portraits I prefer to also have at least one sitting where I can make adjustments to the painting while viewing the subject in person. Obviously this rarely works with children and almost never with pets!
